Lenten Discussion Series
Welcome!
The Worship Team would like to invite the Amicable Congregation to a Lenten discussion series based on the work of Brené Brown and her book Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone.
What are we reading?
-
BRAVING THE WILDERNESS by Brené Brown
-
The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone
-
"True belonging. I don't know exactly what it is about the combination of those two words, but I do know that when I say it aloud, it just feels right. We want to be a part of something, but we need it to be real -- not conditional or fake or constantly up for negotiation. We need true belonging -- but what exactly is it?"
-
Why are we reading it? What is it about?
Brené Brown's themes will help us to explore the idea of belonging and community as the church engages in the search process for a Settled Minister.
Who is Brené Brown?
Brown is a noted social scientist who has devoted her career to research on courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. She is best known for her TED talk, “The Power of Vulnerability.”
How will we discuss?
-
We will discuss online using Zoom.
When and how often we will meet to discuss?

We will meet every Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
