SHARING MEMORIES IN 2026

Ahhh New England!
Starting in January we saw snow and felt the cold... February was no different! Our first blizzard since 1978! We pushed 36 to 41 inches of snow! It finally stopped and we saw the sun again!
JANUARY
Speaking of snow... cold... and ice...
Yes... our 2025 Christmas Pageant was held on January 4, 2026!

FEBRUARY
Once we pushed over 3 feet of snow to the side... we continued our worship and our work together!

It is also another Amicable example of how when a few folks come together to support friends and neighbors "good things happen"!

BARNYARD BLESSINGS SUNDAY
Sunday, April 12@10am

This special service will be fun for all ages! We kicked off our spring mission fundraising for Heifer Farm learning about Heifer's mission and ministry.
Our storybook sermon invited us to think about those friends in our lives who we can always depend on, and we had some special barnyard guests!

SEED & PLANT SWAP & SHARE
Calling all gardeners, green-thumbs, and budding horticulturalists!
Join us for a seed and plant swap in the Upper Hall. Bring your LABELED packets of seeds (or bulbs, or tubers) to swap and share with neighbors from our wider community!
There will also be tables for swapping gardening books, seedlings, cuttings, houseplants, and tools, and a kids upcycled craft corner.
VOLUNTEER/DONATION OPPORTUNITIES: If you would like to donate packets of seeds to share without swapping, please drop them off in the donations bin outside Rev. Maddie’s office.
We are also in need of donations of used paper pulp egg cartons and paper grocery bags. If you have some to share, or if you would like to volunteer to welcome attendees, tend to or to lead a demonstration/craft/etc., please see Rev. Maddie. And please invite friends and neighbors!

MASQUERADE MYSTERY DINNER

THURSDAY, MAY 21, 2026 "INSIDE MENTAL ILLNESS"
The event addressed the realities of mental illness in Rhode Island, including the growing impact of anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, and other disorders. Attendees will also learn about the stigma surrounding mental illness and the importance of education, compassion, and access to care.
Rhode Island is facing a mental health crisis:
• 16,000 Rhode Islanders ages 12–17 experience a major depressive episode each year
• 10,000 Rhode Islanders ages 12–17 have serious thoughts of suicide annually
• More than 6,000 adults have serious thoughts of suicide each year
• 847 lives were lost to suicide in Rhode Island in 2025
Topics discussed during the presentation will include:
• The power of stigma in society and how to create change
• Personal stories that show hope and recovery are possible
• Discussions covering mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and thought disorders
including schizophrenia
The evening’s message was grounded in hope, emphasizing that recovery from serious mental illness is not only possible, but probable for many individuals with the proper support and treatment.
This event was free and open to the public. Community members, families, educators, caregivers, and anyone interested in mental health advocacy were encouraged to attend.
