AN INVITATION FROM THE PASTOR

There's a place for you, here. Whether you are single or married, divorced, or widowed, in a situationship, or completely happy by yourself; if you are gay or straight, cis or trans, or somewhere in that brilliant rainbow; if you graduated college or dropped out of high school. You are welcome if you are filthy rich, “comfortable, or dirt poor.

There's a place for you, here. If you’re rocking a wailing baby, chasing an enthusiastic toddler, toting kids or teens, talkative or shy, bubbly or moody; whether you’re an adult who hasn’t grown up just yet or a teen who is growing up too fast; whether you have kids or hope to have kids, if your dog or cat is your child, or if you know you never need to have children of your own but can appreciate their presence in church. There is a place for soccer moms, girl dads, artists and mathematicians, poet or practical, fixer or fixer upper.

There's a place for you, here. Whether you can sing like Ariana (or Celine or Whitney) or you would prefer just to listen to the music; if you are inclined to silent prayer or sharing your prayers out loud, whether you are church shopping or just in town for the weekend. We would love to be your church home for a Sunday or a lifetime or anything in between. We do not care if you have been going to church your whole life or have not been since you were a kid or have been too afraid to step inside before this very morning. There is a place for you here.

There's a place for you, here. On your worst day or your best one, if you are going through it, feeling blue, down bad – or if everything is going right; if you have grown up in church or do not like the idea of “organized religion.” There’s a place for you if you work too hard or can’t work, if you work outside the home or work the equivalent of six unpaid jobs in the home, or if you’ve finally figured out the secret of the work/life balance; or if you are here because your mom/dad/grandparent/etc. made you come.

There's a place for you, here. If you have ink, or piercings, both, or neither. If you have purple hair or pink hair, brown, blonde, red, grey, white, or no hair at all. If you are wearing a wig or a scarf. If you are taller or shorter, slimmer, or wider, older, or younger, or anywhere in between. If you walk or run or wheel down the church aisle.

There's a place for you, here. If you could use a prayer. If you are seeking something, even if you do not know just what. If you are doubting, asking questions, if you are a pilgrim on the way. If you turned left too early on your way to Gray’s.

There's a place for you here and we can’t wait to welcome you.

Join us any Sunday morning at 10AM - onsite or online, no reservation needed. Or visit our calendar to learn about other upcoming programs and events.

If you would like to explore more before joining us for worship, please reach out to me (Hi! I’m Rev. Maddie, I’ve got tattoos and piercings, and sometimes purple hair; I always have an iced coffee in hand and sometimes am joined by one of those aforementioned enthusiastic toddlers) at revmaddie@amicablechurch.org with questions, concerns, or hopes for what you’ll find in this

community.
