FAITH FORMATION: ADVENT WREATH WORKSHOP - SUNDAY! November 30 @ 11:30 AM
Kids and their families especially are invited to join us in the Upper Hall at 11:30 AM to create an Advent wreath to bring home. You can also make ornaments, a paper Advent calendar, and more! While the kiddos are crafting, adults are invited to help us finish decorating the sanctuary for Advent and Christmas – or “Greening the Church” as it’s sometimes called.
DONATIONS NEEDED: If you can contribute evergreen cuttings from your yard or other elements to be used in Advent wreath making, please bring them in on Sunday, November 30 and leave them in the Upper Hall.
Ecumenical Healing and Anointing Service on Sunday November 30 at 5pm at Holy Trinity Church
Amicable will participate in a healing service to take place at Holy Trinity Church on Sunday, Nov. 30th at 5pm. This is a collaborative healing service with Amicable Church. Both churches will take turns hosting the healing service on the last Sunday of the month. All are welcome to attend this public service of prayer and healing.
“Inside Mental Illness” – How Can Each of Us Help? – TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2ND 6:30 TO 8PM UPPER HALL
The holiday season can be especially challenging for some of us. Mental illness occurs when there is an imbalance of brain chemicals. During stressful times, this imbalance tends to happen more often. The entire community is invited to a free presentation on mental illness and how we can support our loved ones and neighbors. Questions will be answered.
This community service is offered by Amicable Church in collaboration with NAMI RI (National Alliance on Mental Illness, RI Chapter).
2025 ADVENT DEVOTIONAL BOOKLETS ARE AVAILABLE!
Our 2025 Advent Devotional material is in! There are limited quantities available! All members may access the booklet online from our website. If you would like a printed copy please send your request to office@amicablechurch.org with your mailing address and we will get one to you. Directions to access the material online will be included in your Weekly Announcement email.
THANKSGIVING BASKET MISSION-UPDATE
Hurray! Our small but mighty team of “turkey handlers and basket stuffers” were busy wrangling those turkeys and sides for every basket on Thursday and distributed them on Saturday! We are so very thankful for all their hard work and dedication to this mission! Special thanks to Pat C. and Kim G. who organized the event, the collection of food, and handled many calls and emails! They gave out 176 baskets that will feed over 750 people! Thanks to all who donated and gave their time to make this mission a success! Thanks to ALL the kids who showed up in force, delivered those heavy bags, and worked for donuts and hot chocolate in the cold and damp rain! Special thanks to all the businesses who donated and to the library who gave us a wonderful room to work out of! More info and pictures will be posted on our website www.amicablechurch.org soon!
TIVERTON FOUR CORNERS “BRIGHT NIGHT” PARTICIPATION – DECEMBER 5TH, 4PM TO 7PM
STOP, SHOP, & VISIT WITH SANTA!
Stop at Amicable Church on your way to Tiverton Four Corners Bright Night Event! You will be able to visit Santa and do some shopping in our Thrift Store! We will be open from 4pm to 7pm! Lots of seasonal items, clothing, jewelry, home goods, artwork, DVDs, CD's, books... you name it we have it! Your perfect stocking stuffer stop! All this and a Meet & Greet with Santa! Amicable will start lighting the way to the Four Corners for you! Ho! Ho! Ho! Stop by!
(IF YOU HAVE ANY OUTDOOR LIGHTS OR DECORATIONS YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE/LOAN TO US FOR THE NIGHT--- WE WILL TAKE THEM! LEAVE THEM IN THE OFFICE AND WE WILL USE THEM!)
DECORATING THE SANCTUARY FOR CHRISTMAS
We will be accepting orders for poinsettias to decorate our sanctuary for Christmas Eve! We will insert forms in the weekly bulletin, and they will also be available in the office, sanctuary, and Upper Hall. Purchase them in Honor of or in Memory of a loved one. What a wonderful way to include and remember them at Christmas!
Cost is $13.00 each. Last day to place an order will be Wednesday, December 10th!

BECOME A SUNDAY MORNING GREETER
Greeting friends and new faces at our sanctuary doors at the start of Sunday morning worship is an incredibly important role you can volunteer for as a member or friend of Amicable. Our United Church of Christ conference has studied church practices over many years and concluded that a person visiting a church for the first time typically decides in the first 30 seconds of being in the building whether they will come back again. Ensuring they are acknowledged, warmly welcomed, and made to feel comfortable are integral to this conclusion leaning toward “yes!” at Amicable. There is a rotating list of Greeters that would love to see more volunteers added to the ranks. If volunteering for this role interests you, please reach out to Kristen Zeiser (Kristen.zeiser@gmail.com).

WE COULD USE YOUR HELP! WE NEED FLOWERS FOR OUR SUNDAY SERVICES!
We are accepting flower donations for our weekly services. Please check with Bobi Zeiser for more information and to sign up. Donate to celebrate an occasion or to remember a loved one. We have dates open in 2025! Reserve your Sunday now!
