SUMMER FAIR COMING – SAVE THE DATE
Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 9am to 3pm! Please help support our Annual Summer Fair. We need all those items that you have been tripping over at home to sell in our yard sale or the Silent Auction! We need volunteers, baked goods, plants, yard sale items, children's toys, and silent auction items! Your help is especially needed for set-up and cleanup. Nick and Bobi Zeiser are the contact people. Remember: if you donate furniture to the sale be sure it is not upholstered! If you need help with a pickup for your donated treasures email or call the office and we will arrange one! There is a signup sheet in the Upper Hall to help collect items for our Silent Auction. It’s a fun time to meet new friends and spend time with our old friends! SAVE THE DATE! We hope to see you there!

SUMMER BOOK CLUB
Third Thursdays in the Summer, 7:00 PM - RSVP to revmaddie@amicablechurch.org
I’d love for you to join me for any or all of these small group reads. These three books are by fiercely faithful women, all of them contemporary theologians with a heart and a head for the Gospel. We will gather on the third Thursday of each month this summer at 7:00 PM. Check out the June Friendly Messenger for all the books we will read. Our first session and book will be:
June 19: “Everything Happens For a Reason And Other Lies I’ve Loved” by Kate Bowler - Reflections by Kate Bowler after her Stage IV colon cancer diagnosis, this is a meditation on sense-making when there’s no sense to be made, on letting go when we can’t hold on, and on being unafraid even when we’re terrified.
BECOME A SUNDAY MORNING GREETER
Greeting friends and new faces at our sanctuary doors at the start of Sunday morning worship is an incredibly important role you can volunteer for as a member or friend of Amicable. Our United Church of Christ conference has studied church practices over many years and concluded that a person visiting a church for the first time typically decides in the first 30 seconds of being in the building whether they will come back again. Ensuring they are acknowledged, warmly welcomed, and made to feel comfortable are integral to this conclusion leaning toward “yes!” at Amicable. There is a rotating list of Greeters that would love to see more volunteers added to the ranks. If volunteering for this role interests you, please reach out to Kristen Zeiser (Kristen.zeiser@gmail.com).
WEEKLY FLOWERS FOR THE SANCTUARY
We are accepting flower donations for our weekly services. Please check with Bobi Zeiser for more information and to sign up. Donate to celebrate an occasion or to remember a loved one. We have dates open in 2025! Reserve your Sunday now!
